Chinese news site 17173.com is reporting that Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns will be releasing in the country on November 20th.

The launch of the expansion will be proceeded by a pre-order sale that includes all three of Heart of Thorns’ editions: basic, digital deluxe, and collector’s. The sale will begin on November 13th.

Massively Overpowered has extensive coverage of Guild Wars 2’s first expansion, including a special podcast devoted to talking about it, our hands-on choose my adventure series, and our regular game column.

SoMuchMass What are you talking about? It launched over a year ago.

Are they going to charge for it, or give it for free?  The game came out in China 6 months ago, didn’t sell well at all and they expect people to pay again 6 months later?

Quincha Telos_ The complaint was that there isn’t enough Hardcore stuff so they created more hardcore stuff. Complaining that they are stepping away from the casuals is just you either being willfully blind or selfish.

Quincha This is what players wanted though.  A way to earn some new gear and weapons without having to buy them on the TP.  I’m actually hoping that they do this more frequently.  They started doing this for the Luminescent set in Silverwastes too.  I’d rather earn gear in-game instead of paying real money.

Chinese people paying for games? That’ll be a first! :)

They apparently love Halloween – it got extended.

The game bombed big time on it’s original release over there, and now they want to charge for an expansion?  They should’ve just released it as f2p over there.

Good? I guess? Wonder if the precursor mastery will be different, as they can already earn a precursor in their VIP program.

I predict some back lash, Chinese typically pay from internet acsess like a utility so a lot of these meta events require roughly a 2h session, which means if they come half way through a meta event they have to pay for 3 hours with no guarantee of rewards if an even fails.
