Elder Scrolls III fans will recall that the Vvardenfell of classic Morrowind was controlled by three powerful clans: the cosmopolitan opportunists of House Hlaalu, the honor-bound warriors of House Redoran, and the isolationist mages of House Telvanni, with the plantation slavers of House Dres and the Nerevar’s House Indoril having little power on the island and House Dagoth, aka the Sixth House, having been effectively cursed, destroyed, and driven underground as a de facto cult.
In the time period of the Morrowind expansion, however, we’re pre-Armistice, and the balance of power between the houses isn’t quite the same, as Naryu’s narration suggests.
