E3 2018: Elder Scrolls Online announces Wolfhunter and Murkmire DLC (oh yeah, and Elder Scrolls VI is coming!)

At Bethesda’s E3 presentation this evening, ZeniMax’s Matt Firor announced that The Elder Scrolls Online’s next DLC is called Wolfhunter, complete with werewolf theme. And even later this year, we can expect yet another DLC called Murkmire – yep, we’re diving into Argonian culture in Blackmarsh. Finally, right?! The company promises both this year – in the “second half of 2018.”

Firor says the game is up to 11 million players, with 1 million new in the last year. There’s a brand-new trailer for E3, focused mostly on Summerset, as well as a Murkmire teaser.

ESO’s next DLC game pack, Wolfhunter, will bring two new and challenging group dungeons: Moon Hunter Keep and March of Sacrifices. As its name suggests, these two dungeons are themed around Tamriel’s werewolves, and you’ll be able to dive into all-new stories surrounding those afflicted with the lycanthropic curse and even, perhaps, come face-to-face with the Daedric Prince Hircine himself. Both dungeons feature two very different environments, and they will challenge you and your group with hordes of monstrous defenders and tricky boss encounters. As always, there will be powerful new item sets, monster masks, and other unique rewards for those who answer the call.”

And as for Murkmire:

“Available later this year, Murkmire is ESO’s next zone and story content expansion, and it will take you into the home of the Argonians. There, you will win the trust of reclusive tribes, delve deep into crumbling xanmeer ruins, and hack your way through the savage wilds of Black Marsh to discover one of the Hist’s greatest secrets. Similar to previous DLC zones, Murkmire will feature a brand new area to explore, an exciting story line, new World Bosses and Delves, and a brand-new group arena (with its own leaderboard).”

As for the rest of the TES franchise…

TES Legends is coming to multiple new platforms with a big ol’ graphics overhaul:

Bethsoft also announced a new Elder Scrolls Blades game for mobile that looks sweet.

And finally, another long-awaited single-player, Elder Scrolls VI, was very much announced/teased – no, we don’t know exactly which province yet (High Rock, maybe?), but HYPE! Literally bouncing in my chair here!

Massively Overpowered is on the ground in Los Angeles, California, for E3 2018, bringing you expert MMO coverage on Anthem, Fallout 76, Elder Scrolls Online, and everything else on display at this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo!

Werewolves this time around better have the mod dance from The Mighty Boosh, WoW gave me much disappointment with their Justin Timberlake crap.
Yeah I know it won’t happen it being ESO. But hey.

would it be considered genocide if I started making scramble out of Agronian eggs?

When I read the bit about Elder Scrolls VI, I literally bounced in my chair, too. XD

ROFL – Elder Scrolls VI has been “coming” for some time now. A 40 sec. teaser did not do anything for me except the thought ran through my mind…. “I guess I can watch my grand children play it.”!

I’m really happy to see ESO doing so well and the developers pushing out content at a great pace. This is what I like to see when a game has a sub model and a cash shop. I end up not minding paying at “both ends” when we’re getting lots of updates and new features. I’m looking forward to seeing what’s in store with the new DLCs.

Just here to say HELL YES to all of this.

I am a raging supernova of insight today.

My body is ready for ES 6.

I still do wish ESO had been more than it is. I’ve just never been able to get more than a few weeks out of it at a time. It has the same social system weaknesses as other recent MMOs.

that’s all? 2 dungeons and 1 map for the rest of the year?

That’s been the stated release cadence since Morrowind.

So maybe it’s not reasonable to expect that devs can release content faster than you personally consume it.

Its ok. You can play other games in the mean time.

Lots of Crown Crates though!

Now I’m curious. What do you want till the end of the year in terms of content?

The Winds of Winter was “announced”, too. I’m not holding my breath for that one either, and at least it has a real title. :P
I am happy to be proven wrong, but I don’t think they gave us anything about it we did not have before. We don’t even have any proof the graphic they were showing has anything to do with the game other than having TES-type music playing through the flyover.
Technically, did they even confirm single-player on it? Or was that just referring to Starfield?

Its noted that ES 6 is in “pre-production.” So yeah, that could practically be a concept render rather than anything remotely like what will be seen in the final game. Then again given the dev time for mainline ES games, we should expect ES 6 to target next gen platforms, so it will have better hardware to run on.
