Be one of the first to visit Elsweyr on the Elder Scrolls Online PTS right meow

Elder Scrolls Online fans were hoping this came sooner rather than later: Elsweyr launched on the Public Test Server! ZeniMax Online Studios has teased the Elsweyr chapter and Update 22 since the beginning of the year. Fans enjoyed the Wrathstone DLC well enough. The single-player questline was interesting, but players really wanted to hit the mainland Elsweyr in an open-world setting. Now is their chance because Elsweyr along with Update 22 hit the public test server this morning, but there is a catch. There’s always a catch.

It’s a small catch: If you tested a previous chapter like Morrowind or Summerset, then all you have to do is download the PTS, but if you’ve not tested a previous chapter but have played ESO this past year, you will get an invite. It might take a few days for the invites to show up in your email, ZeniMax explained, because of the size of the testing group.

Please note that all Elsweyr testers will be required to adhere to a non-disclosure agreement so that there are no story leaks. This NDA is limited to just the main story beyond the first quest called “A Rage of Dragons.” ZeniMax encourages everyone who can to jump on, stream, talk about, even post articles on Massively OP about Update 22 and the first questline for Elsweyr. This means, according to the official announcement, “You can share almost all of your ESO: Elsweyr gameplay publicly, including side quests, the Necromancer class, the Sunspire Trial, open world adventures, Dragon Hunt Events, Delves, World Bosses, Public Dungeons, and anything in the base game.”

Sounds good. To get into the PTS, you will simply need to “Show Public Test Environment” in your launcher, wait for the update, and jump in. Many times, the PTS allows for players to create an upper-level character. It’s a good suggestion to do that unless you want to jump into Elsweyr‘s new-player experience to see what kind of prisoner you are this time.

Official early access for Elsweyr starts May 20th on PC and Mac, and the official launch is June 4th. May Akatosh’s blessings fall upon you.
