ArenaNet has this morning announced that the final episode for Guild Wars 2’s fourth season of living story content, War Eternal, will officially launch next week on May 14th. As we’ve previously covered, the episode is expected to bring a brand-new map, conclusion to the ongoing storyline, new armor, a new legendary greatsword, and of course, the new Skyscale dragon mount.

“With the shocking death of a dear friend at the end of Episode 5, the Commander and allies are out of time and out of options. Yet a sliver of hope remains while they still breathe, and War Eternal takes players on a daring, odds-defying chase after the wounded and angry Elder Dragon, Kralkatorrik, the villain at the center of last episode’s heartbreaking conclusion.”

The episode is free for all Path of Fire owners, and not coincidentally, the Guild Wars 2 and Path of Fire Standard and Deluxe editions are half off through May 19th. Naturally there’s a brand-new trailer too – enjoy!

And in case you missed it yesterday, the team dropped a small trailer for what we’ve decided to call the prism sword. Check that out too!

Personally and regardless what naysayers may say, I’m happy to see GW 2 and FF 14 bringing it on this spring and summer. I have been playing both GW 2 and FF 14 just about as much as WoW. In fact Azeroth has seen less of my paladin than FF 14 has seen of my Black Mage! My main in GW 2 is also a necromancer level 80 now and working the story content.

I’m enthusiastic about the rest of my year regardless of whether I try Classic WoW or not. Thanks ArenaNet and SquareEnix!

Another Rainbow. Another Greatsword. Rainbow Greatsword.

Not like we don’t have many of those.

The Zenith skin looks better than this Legendary.

I find the Zenith skins pretty lackluster. They’re not bad, but they could be better.

Actually, i find most weapons in GW2 lackluster because half of them could use attack animations like the Legendaries. Several come to mind, like the flaming weapons.

Does the music to anyone else sound like some track out of GoT?
Really like trailer and music here.

Game of Thrones has had 2 piano music pieces so far (Light of the Seven and the Night King), also Maclaine Diemer certainly composed the music for this trailer at least 2 months before Episode 3 of GoT. I love the (as it would appear so) the last member of Zephyrite choir singing along the piano. Piano music (as Lena Raine said after Maclaine) is the main instrument for Asura. I wonder what if it means something for the story.

Trailer needs more Emperor Papaltine laughing at the end.
