It would seem like reporting on the in-development multiplayer space flight sim Starfighter Inc is an annual tradition here at MOP. When we last reported on this upcoming title, it was working on alpha and ship systems. The year before that, it was in danger of not funding its Kickstarter (a fate that had befallen it before) but would rally and meet its goal. Now here we are in 2019, and our little internet spaceship is growing up: It’s got a final name, an all-new website, and a planned beta launch this year! I feel like a proud parent.
Yes, Starfighter Inc has settled on the final title In the Black, and it’s even showing off its new name and logo with a snazzy little website to match. Of course, that’s not all that’s new for the multiplayer flight sim: Backers of the title can also look forward to a beta sometime in Q3 2019 (PR speak for “summertime”), and additional beta keys will be dished out via the game’s website. Those who are interested in adding their names added to the hat are welcome to sign up. There will also be a playable build of In the Black on the floor of this year’s Gamescom.
