If you’ve heard people ranting and raving about Final Fantasy XIV’s current expansion but haven’t yet checked the game out, well, your chance to do so has arrived. The game is running a free login campaign allowing lapsed players to come back for six straight days of largely unlimited playtime, so long as said lapsed account has been inactive for at least 30 days. But you’ll need to start playing soon, as the campaign period lasts from today until August 16th.
Players who come back for the free playtime will be able to play without any restrictions beyond that ticking clock on play; once the campaign ends or you pass the six-day mark, you will be forcibly logged out. Aside from that, you can play as much as you want and access the game freely, so if you’re curious about the state of the game, go ahead and take a walk back through Eorzea.
