Dang, I almost forgot it was talk like a pirate day! If you aren’t into LOTRO and World of Warcraft’s take on the second-most important holiday of the year, then swing your peg leg around to point at Sea of Thieves, which is using the occasion to promote its Twitch Drops event. Essentially, you link your game account to your Twitch account and then watch pre-approved streamers for loot, in this case, a special cannon.
“Talk Like a Pirate Day is here again! Thursday September 19th 2019 is the day when budding buccaneers from all across the globe come together with ridiculous pirate accents to embrace the spirit of the seas. Nothing floats a pirate’s boat more than the sweet smell of free loot, and you are just a few steps away from claiming yours. By linking your Twitch account, you can earn exclusive Sea of Thieves in-game cosmetics by watching certain Twitch streams during our Twitch Drops events!”
There’s also another dev video up this week, though it’s short and there’s not much in it to speak of beyond the community’s reaction to Smugglers Fortune and Pets and another recap of the game’s Creator Crew. (Seriously, Rare, what happened to all the feature-loaded vlogs?) We’ve tucked that, as well as the video for the Twitch Drops cannon, down below.
