There’s something of a surfeit of survival sandbox MMOs out there, so making sure a game stands out certainly feels more important than ever. That’s part of the reason why Last Oasis, the post-apoc woodpunk survival MMO we’ve been covering the past few months, is eyeing yet another launch delay, this time looking to the first quarter of 2020 for Steam Early Access.
According to project lead Florian “chadz” Hofreither, Last Oasis needs more time to make sure it’s a unique title. “We’ve decided to continue improving the game alongside out community into 2020 to ensure Last Oasis reaches its full potential,” said Hofreither in a statement. “At launch, we want the experience to stand out from other survival games. That means taking more time to refine the gameplay and add more content.”
For those who perhaps haven’t been following along, Last Oasis is set on an Earth where the planet has stopped rotating on its axis but still orbits the sun, which makes the habitable zone move, requiring players to migrate via large constructs known as Walkers for survival and resources.
Though the delay may be disappointing to some survival sandbox fans, there is a new trailer to perhaps whet the appetite, which you can see below.
