ARK: Survival Evolved has now delayed the Genesis DLC to February 25

When I went back digging through our ARK: Survival Evolved content, I was absolutely shocked that the last big announcement was for the Genesis DLC – in August of last year. Studio Wildcard has had its plate full with other titles, of course (though a cursory glance at Atlas’ website shows not a whole lot of movement on that front either).

Genesis was meant to launch in two parts, the first in December. That obviously did not happen. Wildcard’s top brass has now put the first chunk of Genesis for February 25th, rolling out simultaneously on PC and console.

“This additional delay will no doubt come as a disappointment to everyone who is eagerly awaiting Genesis,” Wildcard writes. “We’re extremely sorry to push it back an extra month, but as we have been heads-down with the rest of the team polishing, balancing and putting the final pieces together, we really felt that the extra wait will be worth it both for the quality of the base game and the ambitious new expansion.”

In the meantime, ARK is talking up its Valentine’s day events and planning a wipe of the PvP legacy servers tomorrowday.
