The Daily Grind: Is there an MMORPG you’ve never played and probably never will?

A while back, a few MassivelyOP staff were chit-chatting about alting in MMOs, specifically in Star Trek Online. During the discussion, it occurred to me that I really didn’t have a foundation for understanding their complaints about alts in that game – because it’s one of the few MMORPGs I’ve never, ever played. And I probably never will.

Now, I bear it absolutely no ill-will, and in fact, because of my fondness for some of Cryptic’s other titles, I find myself rooting for it all the time. But I grew up on Star Wars, not Star Trek, and the franchise just has no emotional pull for me to make me want to play it over something else. Then again, I didn’t have any emotional connection to superheroes whatsoever and kinda still don’t, but I am still in love with City of Heroes the game. So maybe I should just get over that hurdle?

Is there an MMORPG you’ve never played and probably never will? And why?

Every morning, the Massively Overpowered writers team up with mascot Mo to ask MMORPG players pointed questions about the massively multiplayer online roleplaying genre. Grab a mug of your preferred beverage and take a stab at answering the question posed in today’s Daily Grind!
