Path of Exile has a cash shop. We don’t really bring it up much because its offerings are almost completely cosmetic and inconsequential to the game, unless having extra stash tabs equates to pay-to-win for you. The folks at Grinding Gear Games, however, would like to talk about its cash shop, specifically some of its most popular items as well as look at some reasons why those items are loved by many.
The dev blog looks at items from every section of the offered microtransactions, from footprints to pets to weapon and armor skins. It also takes a look at the most popular Mystery Boxes, stressing that there have been 38 completely new items added to Mystery Boxes instead of reskins from the store. In fact, the contents of the Chaos and Order Mystery Box were so well-received that they were added as individual store items.
