Secret World Legends preps weekend balancing pass test server event

Our recent Chaos Theory column on Secret World Legends’ rather dismal last year didn’t paint the best picture of the health of the game. But maybe Funcom can turn that around: This week, the studio confirmed that it’s running a “beta” test for the live game this coming weekend, specifically to trial the new balancing patch en route to the game.

“The Buzzing’s whispers are true; balance is coming! Specifically a balance pass for tanks and healers, along with scaling of group and instanced solo content up to Elite 17 (yes, including dungeons and an Elite 17 version of Manhattan Exclusion Zone). This balance pass redefines how tanks and healers work in SWL, and as such we are holding several open beta test phases to get your feedback and identify any bugs that have slipped through closed testing.”

The test begins July 3rd at 4 p.m. EDT and runs through the holiday weekend; players can access it through Steam or the standalone client. Would-be testers should check out the list of changes on the forums.
