Trying to!

If you get annoyed at cryptic teases and oblique hints about upcoming content, you may want to skip Torchlight III’s latest developer blog, as it is full of obscured pictures of what’s coming with December’s “Snow and Steam” patch. We can deduce from one of the descriptions that a dyeing station will be part of the update’s offerings, however.

Other topics discussed included the current drop rate for legendary items (which should happen at about three per hour), upcoming changes to itemization, and various glitches and issues that the team is working to address.

“In the upcoming update we have completely revamped the way quest completion/drops work for the game,” Echtra said. “In this upcoming update, you should no longer have issues finding enough quest items in the game to complete quests. This is without a doubt, the most common complaint and bug we have and we hope this will finally resolve an issue that has been lingering for too long.”

The studio is still apologizing for Torchlight III’s haphazard release this fall, saying, “We recognize that there is work to be done in several areas of the game to bring it up to a more polished level.”
