MassivelyOP’s 2023 Golden Yachties: Most Inadvisable MMO Name

Welcome back to MassivelyOP’s not-so-serious end-of-the-year awards as we present our award for Most Inadvisable MMO Name. Yes, it’s the Golden Yachties series, named in honor of those bright sparks absolutely convinced that video game blogging is a lucrative career and we’re all sailing ’round the world on ships of gold. (Stay in school, kids.)

And the winner is…

LET IT DIE

Readers, you must forgive me for bending the definition of MMO for this fauxward, but calling your multiplayer game Deathverse: Let It Die is just asking for trouble, would you not agree? Indeed, that’s exactly what happened this year, as developer Gungho did indeed quite literally let it die as it was sunsetted back in July. I mean, next you’ll tell me there were MMOs named Sunset World and Population Zero.

Oh. Oh no.
