Last night’s Blizzard stream on Diablo IV’s already well-fleshed-out Season of the Construct dropped both eyecandy and details on the upcoming content. “Associate director of community Adam Fletcher, game design manager Daniel Tanguay, quest designer Madeleine James, and lead class designer Adam Jackson spoke about the new Seneschal companion, Hazard-filled dungeons called Vaults, a new Questline, and more—all of which surfaces in Sanctuary on January 23,” Blizzard says.
Those Seneschal companions give players something new to min-max and plan out, as the Seneschal will scale to the player character and take up its stats, then you’ll tweak it from there. Gamers are already theorizing how these companions will essentially rescue underpowered builds from the dustbin.
To clarify, yes! Your Seneschal Construct companion will scale 1:1 with your own stats. Your attack rating is it's attack rating. Your crit is it's crit, etc. Have at it!

Players can also look forward to buffs for all five classes, with even more (like nerfs for Overpower and Blurred Beast Aspect and Ball Lightning) on the way toward the middle of the season – that’s apparently going to be the cadence for balance from now on, with two such patches, one at the start and one midway through.
Patch notes should be out later today, so stay tuned.
