Guild Wars 2 is continuing to quietly push out low-key weekly events this month with barely an acknowledgement except on social media, to the chagrin of players, who have already datamined apparent plans for around 30 such events staggered out over the course of the year.
The latest is the PvP Rush Event, which runs from today until January 30th. Players have to head to Lion’s Arch to talk to Zafirah of the Zaishen Order, presumably to engage in arena PvP in exchange for special rewards and achievements. We don’t know exactly what’s coming in today’s event since this’ll be the first time it’s executed, but other similar events – like WvW Rush – have boasted honor, tickets, and related PvP tokens.
The game’s subreddit is a jumble of emotions about the event, with some lamenting the state of the game’s PvP scene, some moaning about having to deal with noobs, and others welcoming fresh meat to their favorite grinder. There’s one consensus: Everyone wants more Zafirah.
