Have you been itching to survive against hordes of enemies that rush your position in Destiny 2? Then you could just play any number of regular missions in the shooter or hop into the Dares of Eternity… or you could look forward to a more traditional wave survival mode when Onslaught goes live with the Into the Light update, which was the focus of Bungie’s livestream earlier this week – the first of three planned streams on the content.
Onslaught mode has three players doing their best to defend an important MacGuffin from waves of increasingly difficult enemies. As foes are defeated, the team collects scrap, which can be used in-between rounds to purchase things like tripwires, decoys, and turrets to aid in defense.
Onslaught will be available to all players and will scale based on character power level. The activity will be available in two varieties: a playlist version that has a maximum of 10 waves, and a challenge version with up to 50 waves, and there’s no time limit – the only losing condition is if the main item being defended is destroyed – though there will be a timer during buy phases.
Interested players can either watch the livestream below with some live gameplay footage, or they can look through this handy little summary on Reddit.
