So we’ve got some good news and bad news for Corepunk fans. The bad news is that the second alpha test which was originally planned for the end of April is delayed until the end of May. The good news is hamburgers are delicious. This may not actually be connected with the bad news in any fashion, but if we just told you that we had bad news, it would have sounded worse.
But let’s be realistic here: When the game has been delayed so many times that it was originally planned for beta testing in 2020, can you really be all that shocked? Even if the head of the studio claims early access is totally possible in 2024 and they mean it this time. At this point a delay is more on-brand than anything.
Why the delay? The announcement makes it clear that the goal for the second alpha was to have a complete progression loop in the game when the test launched, and looking at test schedules there was just no way to make that happen on a realistic timeframe by April. So instead the test is delayed by another month and you must keep your core punkless for a bit longer. On the plus side, there are plans for more system previews during the intervening month, so your core can have a little punk. As a treat.
