Gigantic’s return as the buy-to-play Rampage Edition has gone the way of nearly every MMO and multiplayer game’s launch, which is to say poorly, as the game’s servers have crumbled under the strain of its last 20 hours.
Problems began springing up almost immediately, starting first on the Asia server and PS5 platform, then affecting the whole game. The Asia server problems were cleared for a time, but server disconnections continued on, forcing a later re-deployment that didn’t seem to fix the issue. The last post was shared early this morning, with Arc Games noting that some players were able to get into a match queue but not all server problems have been fixed.
In spite of it all, Abstraction and Arc thanks players for their support as Gigantic’s return was reportedly one of the largest in the title’s history in terms of Steam sales and consecutive players. Fans also appear to be rallying around the game, expressing some measured reaction to the game’s server woes, trying to push back against a Steam review bombing, and generally trying to be encouraging to the devs.
🛠️ While some players seem to be getting into queue, not all of the server issues have been resolved. We're continuing to investigate and work to fix the issue for everyone. Many apologies for those who haven't been able to play! 🛠️
