Temtem Swarm debuts a new gameplay trailer and previews one of its boss monsters

Temtem: Swarm, the second spinoff game from the originally Kickstarted “MMO-lite” game Temtem, has come back as a major blip on our radar as Crema Games debuted a new gameplay trailer, granting everyone a fresh look at the small-scale “bullet heaven” multiplayer title.

The footage in question isn’t too different from its original February announcement trailer, but it does provide a more complete look at the title in action from a player’s perspective as opposed to a sizzle reel; the video highlights its three-player co-op, some of its mechanics in terms of earning gear and evolving chosen Tems, and a quick look at a couple of boss fights that will appear in the middle of a run.

Speaking of boss monsters, the game’s latest dev blog highlights one of its bosses, Oceara. A pure water-type creature, this boss naturally is strong against fire-type Tems but weak against earth and electricity types, while its range of attacks involve floods of water, lighting blasts, and healing rain. The post closes with word that Swarm is planning a launch at the end of this year.

Of course, it’s impossible to extricate this game from the wider Temtem controversy, as Crema raised Kickstarter funds to make an MMO but then decided to change its tune and ultimately end content additions with the later launch of Update 1.8 after promising that Swarm wouldn’t mean the end of Temtem’s development.
