Kickstarted MMO Fractured Online to fully launch on July 24th

While an official launch date is cause for celebration under normal circumstances, it seems doubly so for the rough road that MMO sandbox Fractured Online has experienced. After being Kickstarted for $130K in 2018, the title merged into Gamigo’s fold in 2021 only to be kicked out of it the year after and exit early access altogether.

The studio, Dynamight, regained control and came back to early access late last year, leading to the big announcement this week: Fractured is fully launching on July 24th after seven years of development. This release will coincide with a new server (Elysium) to run parallel with the current one (Genesis), reduce PvP to specific zones, and revamp the tutorial. Currently, there are no plans to allow character transfers from Genesis to Elysium.

“As an eight-people team, we are proud of the insane accomplishment that is Fractured Online (seriously, no sane person would embark on developing such a game starting with almost zero budget). Now, it’s time to bring our dream sandbox MMORPG and our 20,000 backers (plus all the followers who haven’t bought the game yet) into the next era of its lifetime,” the studio said.
