World of Warcraft previews its super nostalgic fall 20th anniversary event

You World of Warcraft players have finished up The War Within by now, yes? No? Well, all y’all better get on top of that because Blizzard’s cooking up another heap of content for this fall with the MMO’s 20th anniversary celebration.

For World of Warcraft’s two-decade mark, the studio is leaning pretty hard on nostalgia. In a preview video posted yesterday, Blizzard talked about how it’s fashioning a Blackrock Depths raid, bringing back modernized Tier 2 transmog sets, revisiting the famous Gates of Ahn’Qiraj event, offering up classic dungeon timewalking, and more.

During the event, plenty of past anniversary rewards are making a return as well, such as the adorable baby Blizzard bear, the molten corgi, and Lil’ Nefarian. These come on top of a batch of new goodies like the 20th anniversary balloon toy, baby Doomlords, and new Shaman ascended forms (the community really doesn’t like the last bit, though):

The event is expected to hit the PTR soon.
