Mistfall Hunter is a PvPvE extraction ARPG for Steam and Xbox set in a world ruined by Ragnarok

The multiplayer extraction sub-genre is once more getting another entry, only this time we’re headed for a world that persists after the annihilation of the fabled Ragnarok. This is Mistfall Hunter, a third-person ARPG from developer Bellring Games where teams of players fight corrupted creatures and each other in order to get precious loot back to camp. Quelle surprise.

“A cataclysmic battle between the gods of this world and otherworldly deities leaves nearly all divine beings fallen, transforming their blood into a golden mist that drives those it touches into madness. This disaster, dubbed the ‘Gyldenize,’ leaves only a few humans to survive in untouched corners of the world. A mysterious girl channels a supernatural power and seeks out dead heroes and grants them immortal flesh to battle the blighted creatures, restoring hope to their world on the precipice of ruin.”

The gameplay beats of this title don’t appear to rock too many boats: Players can choose from Mercenary, Sorcerer, Blackarrow, and Shadowstrix, then head out to uncover treasures and a precious resource known as gyldenblod and bring it safely back. Getting these goodies is a matter of either cutting through corroded foes, fallen heroes, and mutated demigods, or waiting for the opportunity to strike other teams for their rewards – and if characters die, everything they have is lost.

Mistfall Hunter is planning to launch sometime in 2025 on Xbox and Steam, meaning they can be wishlisted now on either platform, while a closed beta test for PC players can also be opted in to via the official site.
