Since last year we’ve been keeping eyes on the “mediumly multiplayer” cozy title Loftia, a life sim RPG that puts players into a colorful solarpunk sandbox world that’s about repurposing scrap and cooperative survival; we’ve seen its Kickstarter climb to over $1M, the studio nail down investor funding, and its devs detail development all along the way. Now that development is moving to some important new milestones: alpha and early access.
An update on the game’s Discord confirmed developer Qloud Games’ plans to open up alpha access by the end of this year, followed by an early access launch at the end of next year. The studio further affirmed that alpha will be in active development, while its early access build will be closer to the full product. It also announced that pre-ordering for either access tier will close up on Monday, November 4th.
Meanwhile, the game’s latest update preview showed off some advancement in farming gameplay, salvaging tools and salvagable items, some of the newly created ambient sound, and the introduction of airtram stations that will let players travel between the game’s floating islands. The devs are also asking the important questions like whether some cute chonky meme creatures should be added.
