What happens when some pro Hearthstone players decide to make their own digital card game? You apparently get something like The Bazaar, the self-styled “first F2P hero builder” that buts together hero-centered deck-building, some roguelite elements, and some one-on-one PvP.
Here’s how it works in brief: Players select from a roster of heroes, then have to make decisions across a six turn “day” that involves purchasing items and weapons, defeating monsters, selling wares, and making choices in random events. At the end of an in-game day, players face off against one another in asynchronous drafting with their assembled build. Combat against both players and monsters is automatic, with cooldowns for item and weapon affects cycling through until one side is defeated. It’s all quite a bit more granular than that so interested players may want to check out gameplay and an interview from YouTuber Rarran.
An FAQ for the game confirms that The Bazaar is currently in a paid-for closed beta, which is scheduled to run until sometime in December, which is when open beta will begin. Following that, the game will make a worldwide release on PC, Mac, and mobile devices in 2025. Currently the only way to get into the closed beta is through the purchase of a founder’s pack, which ranges in price from $33 to $99. Once closed beta ends, there will be no more purchases available.
