Albion Online plans updates to economy, Outlands, and release timing in 2025

It’s been a packed year for the PvP sandbox Albion Online, and what better way to look back at the year that was than with game director Robin Henkys sitting in the Comfy Chair wearing a festive sweater in the game’s final dev talk of the year? I guess some hot cocoa nearby would also make it perfect, but that’s for you to make yourself. We cannot transmit hot cocoa to you. Yet.

The video address opens with a look at the four updates and 15 patches made across this past year, including things like journal tasks, a new European server, and new guild vs. guild mechanics, along with all of the quality-of-life adjustments made through the past 12 months.

In terms of what’s coming in 2025, that will include a couple of Outlands updates that allow smaller scale bases to be built without being in a guild and the hint of “new trade opportunities” in the zone, along with more crystal weapons and new journal tasks. Another focal point in the early part of next year is the gold economy: Sandbox Interactive thinks that gold prices are too high and so it will be making some small adjustments to bring things back down to what it considers a healthy level.

The video then moves on to talk about how devs will be adjusting Albion’s content release schedule. New updates will still arrive in-between every season, but seasons will now run for two months starting with Season 26.

Lastly, the video closes with some general plans to improve existing content, specifically calling out hellgates, the new player tutorial, faction warfare, and territory warfare variety. More details are promised as the new year begins, but for now fans can get a general look ahead by watching the video below.
