It’s time for the fantasy in Final Fantasy XIV to get even more sci-fi with the release of patch 7.41, which has introduced the tentpole attraction of its next Cosmic Exploration destination, the planet Oizys, where crafting-minded players can once again build civilization on a distant world.
As with other such additions to Cosmic Exploration, players are tasked with completing various stellar missions, searching for artifacts, and completing large-scale projects, all with the aim of earning currencies to purchase new gear, furnishings, and a mount. On the subject of crafting things, expert recipes added in this patch can also get a new robust condition that reduces durability loss and guarantees the sturdy condition on the next crafting step.
On top of the new planetary stuff, the patch also brings on the next phase of Phantom Weapon improvements, which should be useful for players who both are hankering for something that’s best-in-slot (or close to it) while also helping Gerolt with his drinking problem, which is also a thing in this game apparently.
Other additions of note include a list of buffs for the Summoner, a new emote, several new cosmetic items, and a lineup of bug fixes. It might not be content that covers a broad spread of players, but if you’re the crafty kind of person who likes that sci-fi stuff, your spaceship has arrived.
