Fly free, too.

Yes, you saw that right, and if you play Final Fantasy XIV, you’re probably excited. New housing day arrives when patch 5.35 does, and it brings with it three new wards for each of the housing districts. This might sound like it’s not a whole lot, but that’s three new wards with three subdivisions each across four districts, which makes a grand total of 720 new housing plots available on every server. Equally notable is the fact that these wards will be available to both free company or private owners right from the start. This doesn’t change plans to add even more in the future, but it’s a stopgap while new server installations are going more slowly.

This news comes via a dispatch from producer and director Naoki Yoshida, who also explains that the achievements being rewarded for placing highly in a given season of Ishgardian restoration will be subdivided by season… but the title for being in the top contributors will remain the same. As he explains, the goal of the titles is to show off the achievement at all, while the separate achievements let you compared your contributions without forcing players to feel as if they have to be in the top every single time. Furthermore, titles have a roleplaying component that would be made more complex with a new title. So if all you wanted was the title and you have it, you can relax even when patch 5.31 rolls around.
