All right, here comes 2021, let’s level up your beta experiences once again! Crowfall is certainly going that route with its first major beta update of the year, with a revamped leveling system to experience in the game’s current beta test. That’s coming out soon as part of the game’s general push for a full launch this year.
Other beta news may have been slow over the holiday break, but the tests do continue! Cases in point:
- Mortal Online 2 has already had a major beta patch with combat AI, thus ensuring that your enemies will be that much harder to fight off when you need to go loud.
- Early access Elteria Adventures has added new starting chapters as well as new hair and items, so that game is proceeding through development at a fine clip.
- The prior game is not to be confused with Chronicles of Elyria, even though “Elteria” and “Elyria” sound kind of similar. That latter game is still facing a lawsuit while clarifying its promise that it’s still totally in development, for reals.
- Last but not least, remember the promised RaiderZ reboot? It’s promising big things, like a main storyline and zone revamps for players to follow. That should be fun when and if that’s playable.
And with that, we kick off beta watching in 2021 with the same requests and status as always. What do I mean by that? Well, there’s a list down below! Let us know if something is missing or jumped test phases without us noticing. You know, as we did all through 2020 and 2019 and… it’s a whole thing, all right?
As always, we consider an MMO to be in open testing if it features free, public signups and will server wipe prior to launch. An MMO is marked in closed testing if it’s running a private test phase that cannot freely be accessed by the general public; it’s usually under NDA as well. Early access and crowdfunded MMOs whose tests we deem legitimate will be included. So-called “open beta” soft-launch MMOs with cash shops, no sign of launch in the west, or limited interest for our readers will not be listed; we also do not list expansions, with occasional exceptions.
