World of Warcraft: Classic promises more changes to Molten Core and Onyxia for the Season of Mastery servers

Mad fake mode.

In the beginning, there was nothing but people stating that World of Warcraft was better when it was harder during Vanilla. Then, there was WoW Classic, which was actually not all that much harder, so those same people complained that the developers did something wrong and it should be harder. Then came the Season of Mastery beta testing which restored old mechanics and buffed bosses, and people still insisted that Vanilla was harder. So now the developers have simply given up and are just inventing new stuff for Molten Core and Onyxia to make them even harder.

Hashtag no changes!

While specific mechanics are not yet being announced, the development team promises that they will be kept within the original spirit of the encounters. There’s also no intention to raise the difficulty level to the point wherein experienced groups will wipe repeatedly on the content. Still, it marks a significant departure from a strict recreation and into the realm of creating new content, albeit in a very limited and specific form.

Speaking of “no, make it harder,” the Mythic Dungeon Invitational is broadcasting its final matches starting on Friday, October 29th for those who want to check it out.

Activision-Blizzard is considered a controversial company in the MMO and gaming space owing to a long string of scandals over the last few years, including the Blitzchung boycott, mass layoffs, labor disputes, and executive pay fiasco. In the summer of 2021, the company was sued by the state of California for fostering a work environment riddled with sexual harassment and discrimination, the disastrous corporate response to which has further compounded Blizzard’s ongoing pipeline issues and the widespread perception that its online games are in decline. As of fall 2021, multiple state and federal agencies are currently investigating the company.
