If you were annoyed that earning new heroes in Overwatch 2 involved working through a battle pass, game director Aaron Keller has some good news for you: Starting in Season 10 of the shooter, all current and future heroes will be immediately released and available to play right from the start.

This reveal is part of Keller’s first developer update video, where he confirms that Season 10 will finally make every character fully available to everyone, including the upcoming hero Venture, who has the ability to tunnel underground.

Another major addition being touted for Season 10 is the Mythic Shop, which will grant players a way to unlock previous mythic skins for their favorite characters. Details on this shop were slim, but Keller promises more information will be coming soon. He also announces a new clash mode, with a limited-time playtest of the mode on the Hanaoka map starting in Season 10

On top of these major updates, Keller promises to continue evolving the game’s balance and competitive mode, talks about a new push mode map for Season 11, and discusses plans for map reworks including adjustments to Colosseo in Season 11 and a full focus on map updates in Season 12.
