But yes, Broadsword has dropped a new trailer for the pioneering 1997 MMORPG UO, the first since the announcement of New Legacy almost four years ago, and it indeed focuses on New Legacy, specifically its gameplay.
As readers surely know, New Legacy is a mash-up between an alternate progression server and a fresh start server, with a new ruleset designed to help new players integrate into the game; it’s not just a classic throwback. The video shows off new UI additions, quests, a new achievement log, PvP, revamped housing, and skill building (which happens through quests instead of grinding). It’s… very, very different from the original sandbox and its many iterations over the last 27 years.
New Legacy was meant to launch back in 2022 but has been delayed quite a bit, though beta testing is slated for this summer and the launch is now meant to hit around the game’s birthday at the end of September.
