Sure, there’s Halloween things to expect out of RuneScape, but the month of October is also bringing some other non-spooky things to players as well, primarily in the form of the upcoming Group Ironman and the usual weekly update patch.
Group Ironman has tied down a start date of Monday, October 28th. Additional details on the mode’s return aren’t provided yet, but Jagex promises that players will once again experience a group-centered good time when the server opens.
As for the game’s weekly update, that has primarily focused on adjusting the Gate of Elidinis skilling boss, including adjustments to clickboxes, ability updates, and a host of fixes. Finally, RuneFest 2025 will be selling 1,000 more tickets plus any refunded tickets on Tuesday, October 8th.
Meanwhile in Old School RuneScape, the mobile version of the sandbox MMORPG will have to delay its UI updates for a significant length of time, launching on November 6th instead of October 9th. Jagex explains it needs this extra time to clear out bugs and make improvements overall, while the studio also showed off some of the upcoming UI features mobile MMO gamers can expect.
Lastly in OSRS news, players can join in on another open beta of an update to existing content, specifically changes for the Guardian of the Rift skilling encounter. This includes scaling adjustments to try to alleviate players crowding to get into the instance and several adjustments to its gameplay systems and rewards.
