Lost Ark cracks down on Ignite reward chest exploiters, launches Aegir raid

Lost Ark fans have been up in arms the past week over a nasty exploit with the brand-new Ignite reward chests – and now, Amazon is actually addressing it. If you were one of the players who repeatedly and intentionally exploited those chests, you’re not going to like what comes next.

The studio says around 1100 people opened chests, and those who opened just one or two (like normal non-cheating people) are fine. But if you opened a lot more than that, the team will be rolling your ill-gotten gains back and issuing suspensions.

“Players who continually exploited the issue and opened multiple reward chests will have more severe action taken, corresponding to their level of exploit. Players that opened 3 – 7 chests will receive a two-week suspension. Players that opened 8 – 14 chests will receive a 1-month suspension. Players that opened 15+ chests will receive a notice that they have received a 30-day suspension and are pending further review. This group will have various levels of action taken, up to permanent bans from the game.”

Meanwhile, today marks the launch of the Aegir Kazeros raid. “The new 2-gate Kazeros Raid will require you to face off against dangerous threats, both familiar and new,” Amazon says. “The rotting King of the Dead, Akkan, will unleash his horrifying attacks, even calling forth the tormented soul of the fallen Beast Legion Commander Valtan. Joining this unholy alliance, Aegir arrives, raining down a devastating barrage to crush any resistance to Akkan’s plague.”

The patch also includes new Halloween skins, a class balance effort, and a delay for server transfers. Servers are expected back up by 11 a.m. EDT.

Update
Amazon has extended maintenance, meaning the servers won’t make 11 a.m. EDT: “We need to extend the maintenance for all regions. We expect the servers to be back around 10 AM PDT / 7 PM CEST but we will let you know as soon as we have more information to share. Thank you for your patience.” That’s 1 p.m. EDT.
