Guild Wars 2 invites players to design emblems for guild halls

Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns’ upcoming guild halls will undoubtedly serve as a focal point for community interaction and shared efforts. Before they arrive in the game, however, ArenaNet wants to offer a way for players to put their personal stamp on these zones by creating emblems for the halls.

Therefore, the studio is running a guild emblem design contest from now through August 1st. Players are encouraged to whip up interesting artistic designs and submit them in the hopes of having their emblems chosen as the best. The five winning designs will not only be incorporated into the game as housing design options but be gifted along with various prizes as well.

You can read more about it on the official contest page.

Would be nice to see some more interesting ones come into the game.    Already working one myself that I’m sure others from certain groups have already thought of.  Just hoping mine is a bit better…or at the very least that one smashingly beautiful design comes up out of this contest to be usable within the game.

groo the wanderer Correction: End of next month.  Made it sound like I got 2 days to buy HoT.  But I was just being lazy and thinking “It’s almost july”, and almost only counts in hand grenades and horseshoes.

groo the wanderer I’m still waiting to hear how that auto refund works.  Since they no longer offer the deluxe version do I get 20 or 10 bucks back buying HoT by the end of this month?  If it’s the full 20, then I got deluxe and hot for 50 bucks, which seems beyond fair to me. If it’s 10, then I’ll park and wait for more details.  It’s a funny spot I’m in.

We still don’t know how many zones we’re getting, or what’s replacing dungeons.

This expansion looks fun . Had it been twenty dollars less I would have rushed out and brought it . As it is I will probably just keep spending my time in Rift and Elder Scrolls until it comes down in price in a year or so .

Still I imagine if you are someone who plays GW2 a lot it might be worth the 50 dollar price tag but it has put me off in the short term returning to this game . Plenty of other games out there after all that I can quite happily fill in my time with until I see it at a price I am willing to pay .
