Gloria Victis adds new exile islands and smoother new player experience

It's the circle of something, anyway.

Being a griefing jerk is an option in Gloria Victis, but it’s not supposed to be a terribly attractive one. The most recent update to the game’s test client adds a new set of islands north of Stoneholm where players flagged as outlaws and griefers will be exiled. There they will remain until such time as they earn enough positive reputation to leave. Ultimately the developers are hoping that this, along with new human NPCs guiding new players into the game, will make the game far more welcoming to new participants.

The patch also offers more for veteran players, though, with new dynamic events in which players fight for control of key locations and then work to fortify the defenses of their new claims. Players will also be able to enjoy an improved combat system that places emphasis on timing blocks more precisely, with higher stamina costs for blocking too early or for too long. There’s plenty to do with the newest patch, even if you’re stuck in exile and can only hope that one day you’re good enough to get free once again.
