TennoCon 2016 brings Warframe players together this July

As we mention in the Massively OP offices from time to time, Warframe is one of those games that seems to be doing ridiculously well even though you hardly ever hear people talking about it. It’s doing so well, in fact, that it’s warranted its own convention: TennoCon.

In fact, TennoCon 2016 is heading our way in a couple of months, as it’ll be hosted in “the other” London, Ontario, on July 9th. This all-day convention will be backed with panels, previews, cosplay, dev chats, and — naturally — an archery range. Attendees will also get an exclusive Syandana to wear in the game. All proceeds from ticket sales will go to Outward Bound Canada, a charitable organization designed to encourage people to explore nature.

Can’t go? There’s a Twitch for that. You can board the hype train for TennoCon by checking out the invitation video after the jump.

I think the girl on the left is Rebecca Ford, the voice of the lotus.

She was suppose to be a temp voice in beta until they found a professional voice actor to replace her, but when it came time to actually do it the community made it loud and clear they wanted her and her voice to stay.

I tend to agree, the billion or so times I heard her explain the mission or tell me she thinks it’s the grineer….after I’d already killed 500 of them :P never got obnoxious. If that’s not the perfect voice for the job I don’t know what is!

ZenDadaist Sorenthaz Xijit Yeah they basically had the pieces of something interesting back then, and then they expanded on it like crazy.  So now full stealth runs are viable and rewarding, especially with Spy missions of course, and every Warframe can have their stupidly OP moments while not being so OP that they can’t die at higher levels.

Wish it was in the other London. The bigger one across the atlantic. I’d be so there :p

Sorenthaz Xijit I would not have enjoyed WF back in 2013 at all. For me Parkour 2.0 and the ridiculous abilities of the frames themselves are what makes the game for me. Without those two facets, well it just becomes another 3rd person lobby shooter type and the market is already saturated with those.

Uninstalled the game some months ago. Felt like every update that came out required either a credit card or weeks of grinding with a maxed out “guild”. And playing PUGs either resulted in a mess of some one of us dragging in an “invasion”, or having 1 or 2 speed gamers that would wipe the map before the rest was even done loading. And don’t you dear try to leave survival after the minimum time is up…

Warframe and PoE are excellent examples of how F2P should work.
I love Warframe, I haven’t played since winter, probably will get back into it this summer.

Shame there isn’t a Digital Ticket of sorts to get the digital goodies.
