Riders of Icarus has not launched yet; it’s in head start. Yes, head start before open beta, rather than before, like, launch or something. If you think about the terminology too long, you’ll just start getting a headache. Just know that founders are currently playing the game as much as they want, while those who did not buy in to a founder’s pack are going to have to wait until July 6th.
It was a quiet beta week, but there’s still some points of interest to cover just the same:
- HeroWarz Online has hit an open beta for its English version, you can feel free to play that as much as you want. No data will be wiped from this point onward, which mean that your warz with heroz will be remembered for agez.
- Albion Online is hitting its final beta phase starting on August 1st, running for a grand total of two or three months. Players will have plenty of systems to experience, new worlds, new biomes, all the essential ingredients for testing out the game.
- Shroud of the Avatar has released the final patch before the final wipe patch. It’s prepared to complete the preparation for completion!
- Last but not least, Eco has dropped another patch, adding homes, food, and power. That covers a whole lot of ground, really. Now you can make a virtual home and sit down eating virtual steak while watching virtual television. Just like in real life!
We know, you’re eager to look below the cut for a list. And it’s there, just like always, filled with games that are still in some stage of testing. Let us know in the comments if something suddenly has a cash shop with no plans for a wipe while still calling itself a beta or is perpetuating similar shadiness.
As always, we consider an MMO to be in open testing if it features free, public signups and will server wipe prior to launch. An MMO is marked in closed testing if it’s running a private test phase that cannot freely be accessed by the general public; it’s usually under NDA as well. Early access and crowdfunded MMOs whose tests we deem legitimate will be included. So-called “open beta” soft-launch MMOs with cash shops, no sign of launch in the west, or limited interest for our readers will not be listed; we also do not list expansions, with occasional exceptions.
