Final Fantasy XIV plans major revisions to role actions and housing status in 4.4

The official translation for the most recent Final Fantasy XIV live letter is here, and it contains some pretty big changes for the game that could fly under your radar if you were just following official sources. For example, role actions will be doubled so that players get to use 10 at once, which might be more accurately termed “all of them” (making the process of “choosing” completely irrelevant). It certainly alleviates the problem of choosing between Protect and something more active for healing characters, at least.

The development team is also planning to add new status indicators to pick out what player housing is being used for, so you can see at a glance if a house is meant as a store, a personal residence, or what. That’s on top of the long-awaited mannequins and the removal of the mandatory FATEs from the Crystal Tower unlock quests. Check out the full rundown to get a clearer picture of some of the things coming with patch 4.4; it’s not due out until mid-September, but you can start getting excited now.
