The biggest technical change with Rend’s latest patch is upgrading its version of the Unreal Engine to 4.20. That is a technical improvement, but it’s kind of boring from a gameplay standpoint, so it’s a good thing that the game has also received a number of balance adjustments and tweaks along with it. Assassins, for example, have lost improved headshot damage in exchange for increased accuracy, while players of any specialty will note that weapon damage perks no longer apply to PvP combat.
PvP is also made a bit weaker by reducing the damage done by hammers, thereby requiring greater effort to break into facilities for raiding. Combine that with creature changes and bug fixes, and even though the latest patch doesn’t explicitly contain a great deal of new content, it should have more than enough to keep players engaged with the changes.
