The latest Final Fantasy XIV collaboration event, A Nocturne for Heroes, is revving up to go live tomorrow. Final Fantasy XV’s heroic and totes glam protagonist Noctis will be crossing over into the world of Eorzea, and players will be tasked with helping him take out hordes of baddies, including the FFXV version of the primal Garuda. But that’s not what the latest dev blog from Square Enix is about — not exactly, anyway. Instead, the spotlight is on one of the fabulous rewards players can earn from the event: a brand-new car!
No, seriously. In addition to other FFXV-themed goodies, such as Noctis’s attire and fabulously feathered hairstyle, players will be able to hop behind the wheel of the game’s first-ever four-person mount, Noctis’s slick (though probably not especially environmentally friendly) convertible, the Regalia. The dev blog shows off the stylish hot rod, which comes loaded with features, including the ability for passengers to adopt a variety of unique poses while they cruise across the Eorzean countryside.
It also highlights the Regalia’s versatile nature, as it can change forms to take to the skies or dive beneath the waves. Don’t worry, the devs assure players that the interior is waterproof — let’s just hope the passengers are, too. To check out the Regalia in all its gas-guzzling glory, you can head on over to the dev blog, and if you want to learn more about how to participate in the event to earn the keys to a car of your own, you can find all the details on the official event site.
