Star Citizen announces the first sale dates for CitizenCon tickets and hints at persistence in 3.6

It’s almost CitizenCon season, which is most definitely an odd sentence to be typing about a sandbox MMO that hasn’t even neared full release yet, but then these are odd and interesting times in which we live. Star Citizen‘s annual fan convention is nearly here, and the first wave of tickets has its sale dates.

Ticket sales will be arriving in little bundles of 125 tickets, starting with two bundles of 125 this Thursday, June 27th, at two different times for Concierge and Subscribers and then two more bundles on Friday, June 28th, for all backers. A link to buy your passes to the event will likely be waiting at the CitizenCon website at the appointed hour for those interested.

In other Star Citizen news, a video posted by the devs earlier this month has the community chatting among itself. The video talks about plans and features for alpha 3.6, and one of those is the inferred inclusion of full persistence that won’t see everyone’s progress get reset with every major patch. This sort of update would also open the gateway to new systems like the need to insure spaceships and cargo loads. Whether this is going to be outright available in 3.6 and possibly the signal for the end of most server wipes is certainly something up for debate; you can check out the video timestamped to the start of this part of the discussion and judge for yourself.
