RIFT has not had the best run of things since Trion handed over the keys to Gamigo last year, from the premature end of its progression server to the mangled handling of the battle pass to the server merge and more recently the unsettling changeup of content cadence that seems to suggest the end of large expansions for the game. Consequently, the arrival of another holiday event may not assuage any fears, but it does at least include some new stuff.
Yes, Summerfest has returned to the Telara as of today and running through August 8th, with questing, scavenger hunts, piñatas, and Swarmlord Khargroth Battles. Notably, Gamigo has dropped some new mounts and pets for the occasion, including new surfboards, masks from multiple islander cultures, and a series of Sun Worshipper weapon skins that actually look pretty nifty.
The event is accompanied by a smallish patch with mostly bug fixes and class skills in PvP.
