A lot has been made by Book of Travels about the game’s world and aesthetic, whether it’s music, art style, or things that inspired its creation. In the most recent post shared on Steam and Kickstarter, the devs are offering a more specific look at something within its game world: the threats that players will face.

While Book of Travels does seem to be focused less on combat, that’s not to say that there isn’t danger to be found. Those dangers include Kettem, which are aggressive wind spirits that form shapes based on items they pick up, a spirit that is “the embodiment of every expletive spat in vitriol” known as a Maisu, massive nightmare-born creatures known as Mares, and your standard run-of-the-mill human threats like bandits and thieves.

As for the game itself, Book of Travels is eyeballing early access launch for sometime in the summer, which is a more narrow window than the second quarter timeline it had previously, so plans look to be coming together.
