The Daily Grind: Which MMOs have the best weather mechanics?

I am well aware that weather in MMOs is a very old concept; the first time I saw snow in Ultima Online feels like a hundred years ago, and it made Dagger Isle feel cold in spite of the fact that it was just upjumped pixels in an isometric plane. And then in Star Wars Galaxies, I fell in love with as a roleplay tool that could set the mood and even give people a reason to go inside (or hide out in a camp).

Granted, I’m less a fan of weather systems that are accompanied by survival mechanics that, say, murder you for not wearing season-appropriate clothing – but I can see the appeal there too. The pic up top is actually a survival MMO called Solarpunk, which includes growing cycles and energy harvesting revolving around the weather.

Which MMOs take weather and weather mechanics seriously? Which MMOs have the best weather mechanics?

Every morning, the Massively Overpowered writers team up with mascot Mo to ask MMORPG players pointed questions about the massively multiplayer online roleplaying genre. Grab a mug of your preferred beverage and take a stab at answering the question posed in today’s Daily Grind!
