Would you believe we’ve been talking about the Fallout TV show for almost four years? Yep! Announced back in 2020 and funded through Amazon, the show is run by the renowned production duo Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy. It’s set to debut on Prime Video on April 11th – that’s all of the episodes to binge at once – and today, the trailer is officially here.

“Based on one of the greatest video game series of all time, Fallout is the story of haves and have-nots in a world in which there’s almost nothing left to have. Two-hundred years after the apocalypse, the gentle denizens of luxury fallout shelters are forced to return to the irradiated hellscape their ancestors left behind—and are shocked to discover an incredibly complex, gleefully weird, and highly violent universe waiting for them.”

Of course, while our attention is focused on the show because of its connection to Fallout 76, the showrunners made clear during yesterday’s press preview that it’s not really based on a game. “It’s set in the world of Fallout, but it’s a new story that comes after the events we’ve seen,” showrunner Graham Wagner told press. “And we sort of thought the best thing to do is continue that vs. retread it.” Even so, it’s hard to be sad about video game settings being taken serious enough for TV! The new trailer is tucked down below.
