Vampires and Castlevania go together like peanut butter and jelly, so it’s not too beyond the pale for the vampiric survival sandbox V Rising to unveil a crossover collaboration between the two titles. Even so, it’s still pretty surprising – especially considering players are going to get the opportunity to fight Simon Belmont.
“Famed vampire hunter Simon Belmont is infiltrating V Rising to challenge all of Vampire kind. Wielding his legendary whip and an infamous arsenal of holy weaponry, no night stalker will be safe from his righteous crusade through Vardoran.”
Players who successfully slay the vampire killer will get access to Belmont’s iconic whip weapon along with a host of new moves to match. The fight against Belmont and the new weapon will all be free content, but those who want to go further can purchase a related cosmetic DLC that includes castle decor, character costumes, a skeletal mount, and two classic Castlevania songs rearranged by composer Aleksandria Migova to play in character castles.
This new crossover will be part of V Rising’s full launch to PC and PS5 on May 8th. For now, a teaser trailer is available to sharpen your fangs on.
