Fishing is one of the best in-game activities that an MMO can provide and I will not be taking questions on this matter, yet the fishing in Tarisland left something to be desired according to beta tester feedback, so that’s led Tencent to make several adjustments to the activity to render it less annoying and less challenging.
In general, all four of the MMORPG’s fishing techniques will have decreased requirements for landing the big one in terms of time, control, and gameplay. Bottom fishing will further see the countdown for staying within the catch frame removed completely, fishing UI and cursors will be enlarged, and controls have been enhanced to limit the rapid clicking fishing previously required.
These changes are currently in internal testing, as Tarisland still hasn’t given any indication of when it’ll be playable once again. What Tencent has done is celebrate over one million pre-registrations for the MMO by giving away 20 $10 Amazon gift cards, which is perhaps a much easier prize to win than, say, tickets to see a major soccer match in Germany.
