If you’ve been itching to try out SMITE’s sequel, your time has come… assuming you got into the alpha or bought a founder pack, anyhow. Hi-Rez’s Titan Forge Games has kicked off SMITE 2’s first alpha weekend as of today, running through May 5th.

“The event will let players choose amongst 14 Gods: Anhur, Anubis, Athena, Bacchus, Bellona, Cernunnos, Chaac, Fenrir, Kukulkan, Loki, Odin, Neith, Ymir, and Zeus,” the studio says. “With each upcoming Alpha Weekend, Titan Forge Games will introduce more Gods to the game, and improve and refine it based on the community feedback which they will be able to contribute in the official Discord server and social media.”

This won’t be the last event, do note; TFG says that it’ll keep running alphas every month “until SMITE 2 reaches its 24/7 closed beta later this summer” – with free invites continuing in waves as testing progresses. Registering for future tests is pretty simple as it’s just a single “request access” button click on Steam.
